1. Earth Satellite Station CY.T.A

This is our first and only complimentary card to date. It was given to the public at the Cyprus International State fair in 1988. It was also given out to members of the National Guard. How many of these cards were discarded by the general public on the same day that they were given is unclear, but many cards were literally thrown away. There are reports, that the entire stock of 10 000 cards were not given out, but were later added as a gift to foreign collectors who purchased complete sets of the first definitive series from the Telecommunications Authority as a means to bring in foreign exchange. These reports are unconfirmed.

I am aware that some of these cards have appeared on sale in foreign countries at lower prices. I myself picked up a CY.T.A. Logo 5 Pound Deep Notch code 10CYPB in London for 5 Pounds Sterling
