Beginner Agility started today!  Rocky did a very good job at the open tunnel, A-Frame (laid out flat), balance walk, the jump, and the broad jump!  Mom, however, had a little trouble picking her 70 lb. boy up to put him on the balance walk!  Whew!  They both got a good workout and can't wait for the next class.  Rocky's buddy, Gizmo, was there-  he's a 6 mo. Sheltie from obedience.

"Attention" class started today at the EOC.  Rocky paid a lot of attention to the bait (food), almost too much!  He does a good job, except for the pawing and jumping and whining for the reward.  We have 3 more weeks to work on it, and we're sure Rocky will do fine :)

Rocky did it again!  Mike, Larry, and Rocky went dove hunting and bagged about 20 doves.  Rocky also tried to retrieve a tree from the Ohio River, but that is another story altogether...
Way to go, Rocky!

Today Rocky went hunting and retrieving for the very first time!  Mike took Larry (Shelley's Dad) and Rocky out dove hunting today.  Out of 7 birds they took down, Rocky found and retrieved 6.  He only missed the first one, because he wasn't paying attention to where it fell, not knowing to associate the gunfire with a falling bird.  He even brought in a cripple!  GREAT JOB, Rocky!  We are so proud of you, and Mike is very pleased with his new hunting dog.  Shelley wishes that she would have come along.  Next time, there will be pictures!

Guess what?  A friend called me and told me that a new (current) Beanie Baby looked just like Rocky!  So, I went to the Ty/Beanie Baby Hompage and searched for "Fetcher".  Wow!  He even has the curly coat.  I can't prove he is a CBR, but I went out and got him today.  He's so cute.
Click here to see "Fetcher" and read his poem. DISCLAIMER:  I did not own any Beanies until "Fetcher", but how could I resist?  (I am in no way affiliated with Ty or Beanie Babies.)

Rocky graduates from Beginner Obedience class at the EOC  (Evansville Obedience Club)
CONGRATULATIONS, ROCKY!!!
Rocky, when asked what he wanted to do when he "grows up," said that he would like to be an agility or flyball dog! Mom has him signed up to start an Attention class on Sept 8
and a Beginner Agility class (with the Agility Club of Evansville, or ACE) on Sept 10.
Rocky can't wait to get started again!
