~ White Rabbit ~
By Jefferson Airplane
The Original Singer-Anderson departed after the debut album-
"Jefferson Airplane Takes Off", and was replaced in October 1966
by Grace Slick-Grace Barnett Wing, Born October 30th, 1939
in Evanston, Illinois, USA.
She donated 2 of her songs from her former band-Great Society,
"
White Rabbit" and "Somebody To Love".
Both titles were on the Surrealistic Pillow album,
and both became US Top 10 hits.
The lyrics of "White Rabbit" combined the harmless tale of Alice In Wonderland with an LSD trip.
Go Ask Alice

Description of Book
This groundbreaking classic is more compelling than ever for today's readers. A sensation when it was first published and a perennial bestseller ever since, this real-life diary charts an anonymous teenage girl's struggle with the seductive--and often fatal--world of drugs.

Editorial Reviews Amazon.com
The torture and hell of adolescence has rarely been captured as clearly as it is in this classic diary by an anonymous, addicted teen. Lonely, awkward, and under extreme pressure from her "perfect" parents, "Anonymous" swings madly between optimism and despair. When one of her new friends spikes her drink with LSD, this diarist begins a frightening journey into darkness. The drugs take the edge off her loneliness and self-hate, but they also turn her life into a nightmare of exalting highs and excruciating lows. Although there is still some question as to whether this diary is real or fictional, there is no question that it has made a profound impact on millions of readers during the more than 25 years it has been in print. Despite a few dated references to hippies and some expired slang, Go Ask Alice still offers a jolting chronicle of a teenager's life spinning out of control. --

With over a million copies in print, Go Ask Alice has become a classic of our time. This powerful real-life diary of a teenager's struggle with the seductive -- often fatal -- world of drugs and addiction tells the truth about drugs in strong and authentic voice. Tough and uncompromising, honest and disturbing -- and even more poignant today --
Go Ask Alice is page-turning and provocative reading.

One pill makes you larger
and one pill makes you small

And the ones that mother gives you
don't do anything at all

Go ask Alice when she's ten feet tall

And if you go chasing rabbits
and you know you're going to fall
Tell'em a hooka smoking caterpillar
has given you the call
Call Alice when she was just small
When men on the chessboard get up
and tell you where to go

And you just had some kind of mushroom
and your mind is moving low

Go ask Alice, I think she'll know

When logic and proportion have fallen sloppy dead

And the White Knight is talking backwards

And the Red Queen's off with her head

Remember what the Dormouse said
