I think I've heard this one before... |
Once upon a time, in a land far, far away.... |
Picot Delight Necklace |
A word of warning--it's important to master this step because it's used often in the construction of this necklace. The good news? It couldn't be easier. String 4 constrast beads, tie them in a circle, and take your needle up through one bead. Look--you just made your first picot circle! Something to keep in mind--all picot circles will be made with accent color beads. |
See, the picot circle is already back to haunt us! String 2 main beads and 4 accent beads. Form a picot circle with the accent beads by taking the needle back through the first accent bead strung. |
It's like deju-vu all over again! String 2 main and 4 constrast beads. Form the picot circle as in step 2. |
A couple of steps have been combined here, but it's all so easy, I didn't think anyone would mind. String 2 main, 1 teardrop (I used these adorable brass stars from Shipwreck beads), then 2 main beads. Go up through the accent bead from step 1. Finally, weave your way over to the other side of the piece folllowing the red arrow. Phew! Is everyone still with us?! |
We all need fairy-necklaces, and this one more than fits the bill. I did the example above in size 15/0 beads, and Cinderella herself would be jealous! To make this necklace, you'll need two colors of seed beads (main and accent), plus some sort of teardrop. |
