Double Diamond Stitch |
This is a fun, versatile, and surprisingly stong stitch. To make the necklace, you will need two colors (main and accent) of 11/0 seed beads, and about 90 or so round druks (I use anything from 3-6mm). To make the pattern easier to see, I used high contrast colors and black thread. This should, in no way, shape, or form, reflect on my ability to pick out colors! |

STEP 1 |
String 3 main, 1 druk, 3 main, 1 druk, 3 main, 1 druk, 3 main, 1 druk. (16 beads total) |
STEP 2 |
Tie the ends of the thread together, creating a circle. Put the needle through the druk, making sure the thread is exiting as shown in the picture. |

STEP 3 |
Going clockwise, and just skipping the three main colored beads, run the needle through JUST the four druks (you are making a circle). Pull the thread tight. Tension is the key here! the four sets of the main seed beads will pop into the triangle shape shown above. They might require a little coaxing. |

STEP 4 |
Weave over to the top bead of the triangle. String 1 accent, 1 main, 1 accent, 1 main, 1 accent, 1 main, 1 accent (7 beads total). |
