ASSIGNMENT 1: PEER REVIEW

Goal: The purpose of this assignment is for you to learn strategies for having students use word processing to conduct peer review. Another goal is for you to reflect on your own introduction to computers, as you may be introducing computers to some of your future students.

Directions: Write a reflective paper describing your first experience using computer technology, and the impact of technology on your life today. Below are some questions to consider, but feel free to elaborate:

• Was the experience positive or negative?
• Did you have a teacher, mentor or guide? Did that person help or hinder your success?
• How did your first computer experience effect your subsequent use(s) of technology?
• In what ways do you use technology (computer or otherwise) regularly today?
• How do you feel about technology in general?

Due 02/07/01: 2-5 page paper (see format below).

Format:

• Word 98 or below (if using Word 2000 or 2001, save as 98)
• Save file as "Rich Text Format," using the following filename convention: a1_lastname.rtf
• 1" margins - top, bottom, left, right
• Double-spaced
• 12 pt. font size
• Common font face (e.g. Arial, Verdana, Geneva, Helvetica or Times)
  

Submit Assignment: Bring file to class on 3.5" floppy disk (PC-formatted if you use a PC at home).

Points: This assignment is worth 2 points.
