D.A.R.E

D.A.R.E stands for Drug Abuse Resistence Education. It is a police officer-led set of classroom lessons that teaches kids from kindergarten through twelth grade how to resist peer pressure and to live drug and violence free lives. D.A.R.E also helps the public see these officers as helpers, not just enforcers, and it allows the youth in the classroom to relate to the officer as a person.

D.A.R.E was founded in 1983 in Los Angeles, and was so successful that it has spread to over three fourths of the country's school districts. Also, D.A.R.E, has been implemented in over 43 countries around the world. The organization's goal is to equip kids today with the skills needed to stay out of drugs, violence, gangs, and alcohol, and it has been very successful in the years that it has been around. Hopefully, the World is getting closer to being a drug and violence free place because of D.A.R.E.
