Church's Position on Captial Punishment
Up until a few days ago, I was unsure of what the Church's Position on Capital Punishment was, but now after doing some research I have found how the Church feels about the topic. The Church does not support capital punishment. The United States Catholic bishops have been calling for an end to the use of the death penalty for 25 years now, and in 2005, the Catholic Campaign to End the Use of the Death Penalty was launched. This campaign, (as you may assume by the name), is pressing for the elimination of the Death Penalty.
