Chateau de Beaufort (Luxembourg)

Once upon a time four brave conquerors undertook an assault to the Chateau de Beaufort. In the excitement of the battle they lost track of time and were locked in by the fleeing enemy. As they called for reinforcements, the bypassers waived and smiled at the four heroes sharing what they thought a glorioius hymn to victory. The siege was finally broken by an informer who successfully contacted allied troops.

The glory of these conquerors is now engraved in stone with the words that will remain in history:

" ... enferme dans le chateau .... "
