In this chapter we are called to be like Jesus in several ways one being the importance of choosing the right values in which Jesus fought for. These values which Jesus fought for influence our choices and who we have influence us.
Two major ideas in this chapter are to make us understand our values and to deepen our knowledge of Jesus and his life. The writings about Jesus from Matthew show us different parts of Jesus' life. Starting from the genealogy of Jesus although the way to the Commissioning of the Disciples. Also, the values Jesus fought for including the counter cultural teachings of Jesus. I want to remember these two ideas because they remind me of what Jesus suffered through but still taught us the counter cultural values, such as compassion, humility, righteousness, mercy, honesty, peace or service, believing the truth.
How could Jesus go through all those different challenges and still stay faithful?
Jesus was helped by God to pull through the temptations from Satan and everyone prosecuting him, and Jesus stayed faithful through God's help.
