The main idea of this chapter was calling for us to make a difference in our environment. They taught me about values of the worlds for example the social and political, and different religious views;starting with the Greek and Roman cultures and the Jewish religion all affect Christianity.
Two major ideas of the chapter that i want to remember is how God is calling everyone to be apart of his mission and of the history of the world during jesus's time.
I want to remember that God is calling me to be apart of his mission, and to remind me of that i think of Dorthy Day, whose love of God and his word and in jesus's power allows her to be a powerful witness of God.
The world of jesus's time was a huge influence in Christianity, for example the Greek's gave language and philosophy and the Jewish religion gave them history.

A social injustice which i was shown by my uncle i show wal-mart is under paying and not giving benefits to there employees. which is allowing wal-mart to keep there cheap prices.in a wal-mart factory in china they beat a woman with the jeans that she sewed and the factories in which she works at are so bad that when they are inspected they wouldn't be allowed in America.
