Welcome to Ritchie Rabbits Rabbitry. My name is Sara Ritchie, and I am sixteen years old. I raise quality, pedigreed Holland Lop and Mini Rex Rabbits, for breeding and show. This is a hobby of mine that I love, and have been doing now for five years. I enjoy my bunnies so much, and work very hard to produce quality show bunnies. I am working rightnow torwards obtaining a ARBA Registrar's Lincense which I will be applying for in two years, and then I would like to later become a ARBA Judge! Rabbit shows are my favorite place to go, and I was very excited to become North Carolina's Youth Royalty Queen in 2004, after entering the youth royalty contest at that year's State Convention in Smithfield, N.C. . I have worked with many different breeds and varieties of rabbits, and I am so glad I have gotten to experience working with so many different breeds! To name a few, I have had Netherland Dwarfs, Dutch, American Fuzzy Lops, New Zealands, Californians, Satins, Harlequins, and more.. even English Angoras! But I decided that the Holland Lops and Mini Rex are my very favorites! I love the small breed bunnies.. and I love the good personalities too, on my Hollands and Mini Rexs. Even though I am not able to have a large rabbitry like I would like to have, I just breed selectively and cull hard because my goal is to raise the best quality rabbits that I can! Because of limited space, I have decided to focus to work on just my favorite variety in each breed - Castors in Mini Rex, and Torts in Holland Lops. Those are by far my favorite variety in each of those breeds. Lots of competition there... but I love the popular bunnies, to me it makes it more fun! :)
I am very thankful for all the help, support, and friendship from all the friends I have made through this hobby! I have met so many wonderful people and made great friends at the rabbit shows. Thanks especially to Robbie Odum for giving me some great bunnies, taking me to bunny shows, and always helping me with my rabbits. And Katie Kirkpatrick, a great friend I met through the bunny hobby, she set me up with my first fuzzy lops, back when I raised those, and I enjoyed them a lot too! Thanks also to Kathy Messick who was actually the first to start me out in Holland Lops with some beautiful bunnies, and answering all of my bunny questions! Karen Lucas, my bunny friend from West Virginia who came all the way to my house before to trade me some of her beautiful bunnies, and has always been a great friend. And John Frazier for always being supportive, and starting me out with my first Mini Rexes. Ofcourse there are many more of you but I cant name them all! Thanks to everyone who has been so supportive and a great friend to me through this hobby, it wouldn't be the same without you all!

NOTE: My rabbitry used to be located in Midland, NC but six months ago we moved to Monroe, NC.
My friend Robbie has been keeping my bunnies for me so I could get new housing set up for them at my new house. And he is still keeping them for me! (thank you Robbie!). So, right now I am temporarily without any bunnies!!! I miss them SO bad though and cannot wait to get them back... hopefully it will be very soon!
