This momma is in her early 30s and the baby girl is 4 years old. The male in the tank is 5 years old and about 2 1/2 times larger than the female!! I wonder if momma is Nootka, who was there when I was a kid? |

I think this snout belongs to the young male who came to Marineland from Seaworld. When I mentioned to the park staff that he likes to show off, she said he really does and they call that his "Seaworld behaviour". While we waited for the splash show to begin, Riley and I were at a section of the pool by ourselves. The male came over and took a good look, then ducked under the water to get a mouthful that he SPIT at us, getting us all wet! What a playful character! |

The splash show was fun! We stayed out of the way but still got a bit wet and loved watching the whales doing their performance. |

The belugas were gentle and peaceful, floating around in the cool blue water. |

The females seem to swim upside down frequently, apparently to encourage their babies to nurse. We didn't feed them or pet them, but they sure seemed to enjoy the human contact. |
