Basic Cream Sauce

(White Sauce)

2 T. Butter

2 T. Flour

1 cup Milk, Half and half, or Cream

 

Melt butter. Add flour and stir to thoroughly mix with butter. Add milk. Stir with a whisk mix everything together without lumps. Continue stirring over medium heat. Sauce will thicken after it begins to boil.

Sauce may be seasoned any way you like. Grated cheese may be added to make a cheese sauce.
