I BOUGHT MY SS ON
AUGUST 8, 2000 PRIVATELY. I ACTUALLY SAW THIS MONTE ON
THE WAY HOME FROM LOOKING AT ANOTHER,
AND BOUGHT IT THE NEXT DAY. IT WAS PURPLE WITH PINK OR
PURPLE STRIPES, PAINTED ON, TINTED WINDOWS, BACK WINDOW
DECAL (BOWTIE). THE REAR END WAS HIGH, IT HAD STATION
WAGON COIL SPRINGS. WHY, NO NOT SO I COULD CHANGE THE
FRONT SUSPENSION FREQUENTLY BUT TO SHOW THE CHROME
BACKING PLATE AND SO THE REAR TIRES & RIMS WOULD FIT.
THE UNDERNEATH OF THE ENTIRE CAR WAS PAINTED AND IN
EXCELLENT CONDITION, NO HOLES & NO RUST. TIRES WERE
BF GOODRICH RADIAL T/A ON ALUMINUM AMERICAN RACING RIMS,
PIC BELOW. IT HAD THE STOCK 305HO-L69 WITH 200-4R
TANSMISSION, TRUE DUAL EXHAUST. WHEN I BOUGHT IT THE
PREVIOUS OWNER WAS CHANGING THE INTERIOR FROM MAROON TO
GRAY, SO NOW IT'S BOTH, NICE THOUGH. WHEN I BROUGHT IT
HOME, A LOT OF HEADS TURNED TOWARDS MY CAR BECAUSE IT HAD
STRAIGHT PIPES WITH CHERRY-BOMB MUFFLERS. I AM THE 7TH
OWNER, PREVIOUS OWNERS WERE 1 DEALER, 3 COMPANIES (SHORT
PERIODS) AND 2 PRIVATES. THE OWNER BEFORE ME HAD IT SINCE
APRIL '90. I GOT IT CERTIFIED AND HAD CONVERTERS
INSTALLED ON SEPTEMBER 14, 2000 AND FINALLY PUT IT ON THE
ROAD ON SEPTEMBER 19, 2000. MY SS HAD 3 DEFAULTS WHEN I
BOUGHT IT, A RUST HOLE IN THE ROCKER PANEL ON THE
DRIVER'S SIDE, AMATEUR TINTED WINDOWS AND WAS NEGLECTED
ON BEING WAXED REGULARLY. |

BEALTS, CARPET, DASH, HEADBOARD, PLASTIC
MOULDING, REAR BRAKE LIGHT AND LOWER DOOR SKINS
ARE MAROON. FRONT &
REAR SEATS AND CENTER CONSOLE ARE GRAY. STEERING
WHEEL, SHIFTER AND TRIM ON DASH IS BLACK |

LATE SEPTEMBER 2000, I
WAS REAR ENDED BY ONE OF THE LOCAL CAB COMPANY CARS NOT
MUCH DAMAGE TO MY CAR, BUT BOY WAS I MAD. ON OCTOBER
10TH, ON MY WAY HOME FROM A NICE LONG DRIVE, JUST ABOUT
TO TURN ON TO THE HIGHWAY, MY DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIRE
FELL OFF AND PASSED ME. MAD AGAIN (VERY MUCH DAMAGE -
LEFT REAR 1/4 PANEL CRUSHED). MY TRANSMISSION BLEW
SHORTLY AFTER THAT (200R4 - STOCK FOR CAR), REPLACED IT
WITH ONE FROM A CHEVY MONTE. JULY 2001, IT BLEW ALL IT'S
SEALS, SO I DROPPED THAT ONE OUT AND LOOKED FOR ANOTHER
WHEN I CAME ACROSS A 400 TURBO. IT WAS A DUD, SO AGAIN I
LOOK FOR ANOTHER. AFTER MODIFYING MY CAR & DRIVESHAFT
FOR THE 400 TURBO, I CAME ACROSS ANOTHER, WHICH IS NOW IN
MY CAR. THE TRANSMISSION THING DOESN'T REALLY BOTHER ME,
I BLEW 3 IN MY OLD 86 GRAND PRIX BEFORE RETIRING IT IN A
HEAD ON COLLISION. I SEEM TO BE A LITTLE HARD ON

AS YOU CAN SEE (FIRST
12 PICS) MY CAR WAS IN ALMOST PERFECT SHAPE WHEN I BOUGHT
IT. WOW, WHAT 2 WINTERS (EVEN THOUGH WAS RINSED OFF AFTER
DRIVING) AND A COUPLE MISHAPS CAN DO TO A CAR AND IT'S
LOOKS. NOT TO MENTION THE SUN DAMAGE. I'LL TRY TO GET
SOME PRESENT PICS OF MY S.S. , SO YO CAN SEE AND
APPRECIATE THE WORK THAT HAS AND WILL BE DONE. MY S.S.
HAS BLOWN 2 TRANSMISSIONS FROM SEPT '00 - JULY '01. IN
THE FALL OF 2001, I HAD A 400 TURBO TRANSMISSION PUT IN
IT, AUG '01. WITH A FEW MODIFICATIONS TO THE ENGINE AND
THE DRIVE SHAFT SO IT WOULD FIT I'LL TAKE A FEW PICS AS
IT SITS NOW AND THEN AFTER EACH THING I DO. IT PRETTY
MUCH LOOKS LIKE THE "ON THE ROAD" PICS, EXCEPT
FOR THE ALUMINUM RACING RIMS & TIRES ARE NOT ON IT
AND THE REAR HAS BEEN LOWERED BACK TO NORMAL. ANY MORE

EXHAUST - DIDN'T
REPLACE IT FOR THE TRUE DUAL SETUP, I HAD THE STOCK SETUP
INSTALLED (FRONT Y-PIPE, 1 CONVERTER, REAR Y-PIPE, 2
MUFFLERS & 2 TAILPIPES). EVERYTHING IS NEW. WITH THE
EMMISIONS TESTING, I THOUGH I'D BETTER PUT IT SO IT'D BE
LEGAL. WOW $$...... . I ALSO REMOVED THE OLD TINT AND
REPLACED THE SEIZED ALTERNATOR. I'LL PUT SOME PICS UP
