Thoughts on Mr. Purnell's Genetics Class
Mr. Purnell ‘s genetics class is a great environment for learning about the advancement of human society in the field of technology, namely DNA based topics (genetic engineering and cloning). Also included in the curriculum is the new Crime Scene Investigation segment of the class, dealing with crime detection through fingerprints, DNA, hair follicles and blood testing. I love the class because of the interesting topics and hands-on experiments. For example, during the blood test segment of CSI, all of the students compared two blood- stains to guess which was the hypothesized animal blood, and which was the fake. Many of the students agree that this class is by far the best because of the atmosphere during class. The way Mr. Purnell teaches is unique and innovative in design and grabs hold of the students’ imagination.
