In act V scen iv of ;the tragedy of Julius Caesar.: Luciclius and cato were discusing the safety procedures of Brutus.  Anotony wakked into the scene and asked where brutus was.  Lucilius said  "safe, Antony; safe inogh.  I dare assure the tath no enemy shall ever take alive the noble Brutus.  this reminded me of protection sevices.  and when i tought of Brutuss i though of the president of the United States, and the secret sercice. In 1901, presiden William McKinley was assassinated, this got the us cngress interested in protction the president with all costs.  they didnt want any of the presidents of the future to end up like William Mckinley,  thus, the united states secret serveis was formeed.  their primary mission was to keep the president safe. Secret sevice was not only formed to keep the president safe but also the vice president and any other people who has an important role int the succession of the presidential office, and the families of the protcted ones.  Former presidents are also to be protecte.  Their spouse is to be treated with the same care unless the spouse remarries.  In 1997 a law supassed that the former president should only be protected for ten years longer thren the time the resigned.  The childeren of the fomer presidents will be protected to the age of six teen.
