Cassie B. Scarbrough, 79 of Clinton, in the Claxton community died Wednesday in Regency Health Care Center.

The daughter of William T. and Stella Hyatt Portwood, she was a member of Riverview Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband, Toy Scarbrough, Sr.

Survivors include a brother, John Portwood of Clinton; a sister, Mammie Portwood Dunbar of Barberton, OH; stepdaughters, Mary Rene Watson of Claxton, Georgia Smith of Claxton and Ann Perrin of Merritt Island, FL; stepsons, Roy E. Scarbrough of Maryville and Carl Scarbrough of Claxton; 20 step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was Friday in Holley-Gamble Chapel with Rev. Don Hensley officiating. Burial was Saturday in Walker Long Cemetery, Dutch Valley.
