Martha Evelyn Beets, age 59, of Clinton passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2002 at St. Mary’s Residential Hospice.

She was born Aug. 23, 1942 in Anderson County.

She was a member of Farmers Grove Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by: parents, Moss L. and Nina Collins Beets; brothers, Kenneth, Layton and Charles Beets.

Survivors: sisters, Bobbie Evans and husband Tommy of Clinton; Kay Bice of Knoxville; Joyce Bates and husband Harold of Corryton; brothers, Wayne Beets and wife Carleen of Clinton; the Rev. Moss Beets and wife Lucille of Clinton; J.D. Beets and wife Sue of Clinton; Dennis Beets of Clinton; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Wednesday, May 8, 2002 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with funeral service following in the chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Seeber officiating.

Interment is 11 am Thursday, May 9, 2002 at Framers Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton in charge of all arrangements.
