Evelyn Maner Beets, age 77 of Clinton passed away Friday, Nov. 29, 2002 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

Evelyn was born Dec. 23, 1924 in Knox County.

Preceded in death by: husband, Johnnie Beets; parents, Joseph W. and Blanche Hickman Maner; brothers, James L. Maner Sr., Samuel A, Maner; son, Robert Byrd.

Survivors: daughter, Annette Moore of Clinton; sons, Terry Byrd and wife Brenda of Maryville; Jerry Thompson of Arizona; step-son, Carl E. Beets and wife Margaret of Rockwood; granddaughters, Michelle Moore of Knoxville; Sanja Schneider of Tanja Rosa, NY; grandsons, Joseph Byrd Of Knoxville; J. Robert Byrd of Crossville; step-grandchildren, Barry Beets of Rockwood; Wayne Beets of Georgia; Mary Lawson of Powell; Mike Moore of Clinton; Charles Moore of Knoxville; Gary Moore of LaFollette; sisters-in-law, Hazel Maner and Helen Maner of Knoxville; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; very special friends and caregivers, Joe Moore and Rhonda Kile Harris.

The family received friends 6-8 pm Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton.

The graveside service was at 11 am Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002 at Sherwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Larry Potter officiating.
