Charles Beets, 70 of Spring Street died Tuesday night at his home.
An Anderson County native, he was employed as a machinist at Carborundum of Knoxville until his retirement and was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Lucille Beets; parents, Tubal Cane and Emma Beets.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Debbie) Cohan of Powell; granddaughter, Megan Cohan and grandson Ryan Boyd, both of Powell; sisters, Lillian Curnutt of Franklin, OH; Margaret McKamey of Dalton, GA; Clara Pemberton of Clinton; sisters-in-law, Hazel Beets and Mary Evelyn Beets both of Clinton; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 pm Thursday at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jim McPherson officiating. Burial will be at 10:30 am Friday at Tennessee Valley Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 7-8:30 pm on Thursday.
