Clifford Beach




Funeral services were held Monday night at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home chapel for Clifford Beach, 76 of Clinton. Burial was Tuesday at Sunset Cemetery. The Rev. Don Jordan and the Rev. Samuel Condon officiated.

MR. Beach died Saturday at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge of complications of diabetes.

He had lived in Clinton since 1978 and was a member of Midway Baptist Church.

Mr. Beach was the son of the late George and Burnetta Webb Beach. He was born Oct. 20, 1916 in Coal Creek. He served with the Navy Seabees in the South Pacific during World War II.

He and his wife, Ruby Cox Beach, were married on April 17, 1938 in Lake City. They moved to Ohio in 1939. Mr. Beach began working with the Jeep Corp. in Toledo and worked in the Experimental Department until he retired in Oct. 20, 1974.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Toledo. A favorite pastime was fishing. After his retirement, he enjoyed repairing small appliance.

A brother, Holbert Beach, two stepsisters, Sylvia Taylor and Alene VanPay and a step brother, Earl Vandergriff preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Cox Beach of Clinton; a stepsister and her husband, Lorene and Hubert Melton of Lake City; a nephew, Ray Beach of Toledo.
