rose Cherish YOU

Embrace yourself. It means realize your own worth, be proud of yourself, but most of us are too self-deprecating to do it. Or we just feel silly. It's time to rethink that:

* You have a lot going for you. Keep a running list of the things you love about yourself. Ask someone you trust to help you think of good things about you - no criticisms! Take a look back over time and you'll smile.

* Got things you don't like about yourself? We all do. Write them down. Now cross off everything you can't change - that funny patch on your left shoulder, your silly laugh, the way your toes point in. Instead, concentrate on the others. Are you not exercising enough? Feeling sorry and sad won't help you - change what you can, and leave the rest to nature.

* Make a point of pointing out to others something you love about them. Try not to concentrate on looks, but instead emphasize other aspects. Tell your daughter you like how polite she is. Tell the neighbors how you admire the way they tend the garden. Let your parents know you're listening. You'll start hearing kindnesses back, and more importantly, you'll notice the positives in yourself, too.

* Take some time out to think. Sit quietly and listen to yourself. Your body is amazing - it is so delicate in some ways, but so strong in others. It has been through all the trials of your life, and survived, learned. In 2 years you could walk, phrase sentences, smile a beautiful smile everyone loved, and fill onlookers with delight. Imagine how much more you can accomplish with the knowledge of all the years since then!
