Flower people - those old pots aren't
just for plants, and they can make cute decorations in your garden or in your
home.
1.Pots upside-down:
a. use the pots as skirts (or really big pants, if you paint them on), and
paint and decorate them. Since they usually have holes at the bottom, you
can pull through cloths or corn husks or any other material to make the
upper bodies and heads - putting in some wire to hold them up and make
movable arms would be great too.
b. use the pots as the whole body and create heads as above - you can paint
on faces and even have different bodies around the pot - a simple smily
face to go for mom, dad, and the kids!
c. stack the pots together and glue or thread on a rod or other support -
each layer can be a part of the body - the biggest the legs or skirt, the
middle a ruffle or waist, another the torso, and the last (and
smallest) the head! now decorate to match.
2. Pots right-side up:
a. if you want a plant inside and still make people, you can simply paint
them on the outside, or attach pieces of stuffed cloth or corn husks or
cardboard to the outside.
b. you can fill the pot with some stiff material (like the green material
used to arrange flowers) and then attach torso and head to
that so that the pot makes the hips and legs (better for making men than
the skirt). paint...
c. stack up the pots and plant your plant or stick in a pretty flower or
face sticking out of the top. each pot is now a part - top is torso,
etc. as above but each pot is the other way (open side facing up!)
Mixed:
a. women will be lovely with an upside-down pot glued to a right-side up one,
creating a pretty "waist" - then you can make a head however you want,
with a plant or face sticking out of the top or with a smaller pot at the
top.
b. you could also do them the other way, glued with the rims sticking
together - making a wide-waisted person - perfect for gluing on a head on
top too!
