Fought in both battles of
Drewry's Bluff and was stationed there from the
spring of 1862 until the retreat to Appomattox.He
fought in the battles on the retreat and surrendered
at Appomattox.After the surrender the men of
Coleman's Artillery had the signal honor to step up
and shake hands with their great leader,General
Robert E. Lee.General Lee bid them an affectionate
farewell.
