Sonic is exciting! Waiting first for her birth and then for her eventual arrival from The Netherlands will always remain a highlight in my 30+ years with Dobermans. I am truly honored to have been chosen from over 20 homes world-wide hoping for one of the 4 females from this breeding and as a bonus I now have her breeders, Gerard and Elly, as my very good friends. I have every intention of making them happy with their decision and proud of this wonderful girl, one of only a few dogs from the famous Les Deux Peupliers kennel to ever come to the USA.
NEAT chewtoy!
During her puppyhood and adolescence our time together was spent bonding, playing, imprinting, socializing, exploring, visiting new places, hiking, chasing, swimming and doing just about everything together. She has always eagerly looked forward to whatever new adventure might happen.
One of the most satisfying things about her joining our family is that she immediately had the "Shimmer seal of approval" bestowed upon her by my dear old girl,Rebholzer Live Wire SchH3 CD D-CD OB1 T-3 VC STT WAC CGC TD,inc. Shimmer adored her and was worshipped by Sonic in return. It was great for both of them and really put a spring in the old girl's step as she obviously enjoyed playing big sister to Sonic. Sonic has, in turn, taken on the job of mentoring her younger sister,

When I grow up........
Sonic possesses great focus and intensity and a natural love of working at whatever task I ask of her. She is a natural tracker with a keen nose which thrills me since tracking is my own most challenging area. Sonic is a very willing and happy worker who keeps impressing me with her memory of details.

a year later, STILL her favorite toy!
The pictures below were taken during visits to see friends and relatives during the summer of 2005. Everywhere she goes, Sonic makes new friends and has caused many to comment on how she has changed their feelings about the breed. I am usually quick to point out that she possesses a true and correct Doberman temperament and is also very much the watchdog while being social enough to go everywhere and do nearly everything with me.
 A quiet moment of reflection
Sonic is not quite a swimmer although she is a water fanatic. She has her own kiddie pool on our deck where she is always racing off to play and she makes regular trips to the brook to go frog hunting. Visiting with our cousins at their lakefront home during the summer she became even more infatuated with the water and, as seen in the picture to the right, learned to watch for fish beneath the water's surface.
Below she is pictured hiking and playing with her 'cousins'.
Will they never come up for air??
 always alert, watchful

Playtime for the youngsters
The photos below were taken in March and April 2006. Even if the daytime temperature might be warming up a bit, the water in Vermont is still VERY cold. Sonic is so intent on fishing that she doesn't even seem to notice and I had to sternly order her out of the water when her rear end was visibly shivering! The shot on the right shows her 'pointing' at the fish, funny girl!

Sonic enjoys working as hard at training as she does at all of her extracurricular activities. Here she is after completing a track (at left) and working on her hold and bark style (at right).
Can you hear me NOW??
