Time and again througout the Victorian era,
Canadians were called to arms to defend their homes, their country and
their Empire. Their foes varied, from home-grown rebels to American invaders,
from Metis plainsmen to Boer sharpshooters. Whether they be against national
or Imperial enemies, the campaigns waged during the reign of Queen Victoria
helped to shape our nation.
