Chapter 6 A few hours later a car pulled in front of the Bass Residence. It was the last person Lance wanted to see right then. It was Jessica, the person he thought he loved more then anything but now he wasn't so sure "Lance you got visitor." Diane called a few minutes later into the den where Lance had retreated. He had sat there since the talk he had with his father. He still didn't know what to think or do about Fiona. " Thanks mom." Lance said as he looked up and found Jessica standing in the doorway. "Why do you not look so glad to see me?" Jessica asked as she sat down on the couch next to Lance a few moments later. "I wish I knew how to tell you." Lance said, as he's eyes shifter away from Jessica. "What is it Lance?" Jessica asked as she laid her hand onto Lance's. "I just found out something that will change my life for ever." Lance replied with a sigh. " Something that could break my career" he said. " Just tell me Lance." Jessica pleaded. " Yeah just tell her Lance." Fiona said as she walked through the room carrying a few bags. Diane had convinced her to stay a little bit longer. "Who do you think you are?" Jessica asked looking at Fiona. "Not a Tramp like you." Fiona said walking into the kitchen. "Hold on a sec baby." Lance said as he kissed Jessica's forehead. " Let me handle this." He said as he walked into the kitchen after Fiona. "Sure honey." Jessica said as she looked around the country den that she was sitting in. She looked closely at the pictures that lined the wall of Lance, Stacey and the family. She could only hope one day she'd be there with him. Unless he found out the truth of why she was really dating him. " What the hell was that about?" Lance asked Fiona as she dropped a bag on the floor. " Don't tell me she's got you fooled?" Fiona replied. " She's still dating Nick Lachey." She informed Lance. " They broke up Sweetie." Lance said as Fiona dropped yet another bag onto the tile floor of the kitchen. " Get your facts straight." He said to the mother of his unborn child. "How dare you accuse me of lying?" Fiona sputtered out as she picked up the newspaper that laid on the table in front of her. She flipped it open to the entertainment section and threw it at Lance. " Look." She said as Jim walked through the door. "Ohh a pic of her and Nick. That means she's dating him." Lance said as he looked down and found his girlfriend kissing Nick Lachey. " Maybe it was just a friendly kiss,." He said as he ran his fingers through his spiky blonde hair. " Yeah that's it, just a friendly little kiss." He said as Fiona walked over to him and placed her hand on his shoulder. " I'm sorry Lance." Fiona said as a pain shot through her stomach. " Shit." She cursed as Lance's headshot straight up and he looked at Fiona. " What's wrong?" Diane called into kitchen. She was in the den explaining the pictures to Jessica. "I think I'm in labor." Fiona said as another pain shot through her stomach. " Lance help her to the car." Diane instructed Lance. " We need to get her to the hospital." She said as Lance obeyed his mothers command. " You ok Fiona?" Lance asked as he helped her out the door. " What do you think Einstein?" Fiona asked as she felt Lance's hand go into her. " Lance leave the girl be and get her to the car NOW." Diane said emphasizing the word now. " Yes mother." Lance said as Fiona squeeze his hand and that allowed him to know she had another pain. "Well get you help soon Fiona. I promise." He said as he opened the car door and helped her inside and let himself into the backdoor. "Baby why are you going with her?" Jessica asked as Lance got into the car. " Because she's my friend." Lance replied. " And she's having my baby." He said as he slammed the door. A smile can to his as his mother drove away. He could only just imagine the look on Jessica's face as they drove away. " Ding dong the witch is dead." Fiona said with a giggle but the giggle was cute sort with another pain. " Just relax and Breath Fiona." Diane said in a soothing voice. " We'll be at the hospital soon." She said as she said a silent pray for Fiona, Lance and the baby. She could only hope everything would be all right for them. |
