Chapter 5 A few hours later Lance was rolled into Shelby’s room. Shelby was still unsure what was wrong with him. She had called the other guys and they were waiting in the waiting room. “Miss Lynne.” Dr Grey said as she sat down in the chair next to her bed and began to tell Shelby what was wrong with Lance. “ Mr. Bass has suffered a punctured lung, 2 fractured ribs, a broken nose and some internal bleeding.” She said as Shelby began to cry. She couldn’t lose Lance. He was all she ever wanted in her life. “Will he be ok?” Shelby asked as tears streamed down her pale cheeks. “He will be fine now that we stopped the internal bleeding.” Dr. Grey said as Shelby looked over at Lance who looked so peaceful and angelic even though he was hooked up to machines. Thank God.” Shelby said as JC, Chris and Joey walked into the room. The hospital room was silent as each of the guys looked at Lance. They were all in shock over how he looked and what Justin had done. “ I’ll leave you all alone.” DR. Grey said as she got up out of seat and left the room. “What happen?” Chris asked as he sat in the same char Dr. Grey had just a few seconds ago. “Justin just went psycho. I think he thought I was cheating on him with Lance.” Shelby said as the tears continued to stain her cheeks. “ He came and started accusing him of stuff. Lance didn’t know what he was talking about then bam Justin started beating him up.” She said with a sob. “And then he slapped me.” She said as she raised her hand to the bruise on her right cheek. “ Is that the first time he’s done it?” JC asked as he sat on the edge of the bed. “No.” Shelby said as JC put his arms around. Sobs shook her body as she thought f Lance. “It’ll be ok Shelb I promise.” Joey said as he sat on the other side f the bed. “ He’ll never hurt you again.” He said as he rubbed Shelby’s back. “If he ever does he’ll pay for it.” JC said angrily as he continued to comfort her. “But what about Lance?” Shelby asked as she looked into JC’s steel blue eyes with her emerald green eyes. “Same thing.” JC said as he shifted his attention to his best friend who was in a comatose state. “ He’ll never bother any of us again.” He said firmly as the other looked at him oddly. “But what about Nsync?” Shelby asked breaking the silence. “ They’ll still be it with out Justin.” Chris piped in. “ It will be different but we don’t; need anyone like him around.” He said as Joey and JC nodded in agreement. “The Dr. said she isn’t sure Lance will be able to do it again.” Shelby said with a sniffle. “ He has a punctured lung, 2 fractured ribs, a broken nose and some internal bleeding.” She said as she looked at the guys. Their eyes were filled with tears. “ They stopped the internal bleeding but there not sure if he’ll be the same again.” She informed them as she tried to comfort them like that had done with her. It would be awhile until she’d be able to tell Lance how she felt but she was going to be there all the way. Story Index
