In our private prayer time we often are like little children in our relationship with God. Childishly content and very independent, we live our lives in our own little world. God respects our freedom and does not intrude, but He is always there, waiting, watching for us to take the initiative. At times of crisis we rush to God for help. He comforts, strengthens, and sustains us.
Prayer is more than merely asking God for help or asking Him for things. In its deepest sense, prayer is loving fellowship with our Father, God Himself initiated this tremendous priviledge and power by designing prayer as He did.
First of all, we must come to God our Father through Jesus Christ. |

We must pray in Christ's name. When we pray in His name, pray with simplicity and truth. |

"And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son." |

We must also pray with faith. |

In every circumstance we must desire God's will more than our own. PRAYER, then is the doorway to God. We must enter through Christ, who is the door.
We must freely ask God's help, rest in His love, seek His blessings for ourselves and others, express our gratitude, share our joys, and invite Him into our hearts.
The Bible tells us to pray without ceasing. . .our Lord loves to hear from us and is ever faithful to answer. Through Prayer we come to know God better and receive His guidance and direction for our lives. |
