Comments: Yes I think too that we should have a page with pictures of different flights and members of activities, such as band and drill team, flying school class and model club class. It would bring the feeling of belonging more to the group and help remember the good time we had with that particular group.....so group pictures! During holidays, I will finish scanning the pictures I have for the site and it would be cool that people wh took pictures anywhere (helicopter, gliding, Rawdon...parents for training nights) with their own cameras pass me their pictures and I'll scan them to put them up the site...after authorization of course!. Got to go do my second last exam..drawing..pouah Feels good being finished gk and a/c Id even if f/staff need to show concretely their cadets how to wear the ufinorm...flight parties!!??!! Bye-bye! |

Comments: For Cdt. Kling, two things: 1) The diver's name is Alexandre Despatie (with no errors in the name I'm sure cause I used to watch this guy dive a lot). 2) If you find my letters too long, do you still read them or are they boring....for you! You know, I no it is nice to pass, but if you keep coming like LAC. McNeill says to write three words (like: hello this is Cdt Kling!), well we know you say hi! and we are just waiting (LIKE I AM) that somebody comments the other's letters. Like what do think about wha I wrote on Rawdon. Do you aggree, have something to add? Tell us and write. This is Communication!!! Thanks, and remember we appreciate that you come here and give some interaction. By the way, I corrected your test, it's home so you'll know your grade later. Don't worry for the officers ranks:it's the worst part for almost everybody...I don't know why. Next class is Aircraft Identification, but I'll make sure I do come back on the questions of the exam...cause the best way to learn is to learn from your errors, isn't it....so I do want to make it my way for this exam! People use to give me my grade and make me sign a paper, but this didn't leave me the possibility to learn by my mistakes. So, I want you to know all your GK by heart cause it is the most important and it will be needed all along your years in cadets. Especially now that you have to wear a uniform for the first time. Ain't I right?? By the way, the message about giving comments is not only for Cdt. Kling but for everybody who leaves messages.. and those who pass by and do not take the time to write..hum...hum.... Sabre flight all the way! Oh! , officers, I have to ask you if I'm aloud to carry the flag with a sabre instead of a broom post....it's a competition sabre. I used it when I fenced before I joined cadets. Ciao! |

Comments: L.A.C Macneil: If people write alot in one entry it gets boring to read. That is why I made mine short and brief so people can read them without getting bored. I hate it when people call me Meatings because I am taller than him! I am short but I can not help it. Cpl. Gordon laughed when she saw mine tunic because it is really small, but it fits me fine. You think I write alot look how much F/Sgt. Arnold in one entry it is like a story. Does anyone know the name of the 13 year old male diver who won the gold medal in 1998? SABRE FLIGHT is the BEST!!!!!!!! |

Comments: 'Twas the night before Y2K 'Twas the night before Y2K, and all through the nation, We awaited The Bug, the millenium sensation. The chips were replaced in computers with care, In hopes that ol' Bugsy wouldn't stop there. While some folks could think they were snug in their beds, Others had visions of dread in their heads. And Ma with her PC and I with my Mac had just logged on the Net and kicked back with a snack, When over the server there arose such a clatter, I called Mister Gates to see what was the matter. But he was away, so I flew like a flash, Off to my bank to withdraw all my cash. When what with my wandering eyes should I see? My good old Mac looked sick to me. The hack of all hackers was looking so smug, I knew that it must be the Y2K Bug !!! His image downloaded in no time at all, He whistled and shouted, "Let all systems fall !!!" Go Intel! Go Gateway! Now HP! Big Blue! Everything Compaq, and Pentium, too! All processors big, all processors small, Crash away! Crash away! Crash away all !!! All the controls that planes need for their flights, All microwaves, trains, and all traffic lights. As I drew in my breath and was turning around, Out through the modem, he came with a bound. He was covered with fur, and slung on his back Was a sackful of virus, set for attack. His eyes - how they twinkled ! His dimples how merry ! As midnight approached, Though things soon became scary. He had a broad little face and a round little belly, And his sack filled with virus quivered like jelly. He was chubby and plump, perpetually grinning, And I laughed when I saw him though my hard drive stopped spinning. A wink of his eye, and a twist of his head, Soon gave me to know a new feeling of dread. He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, He changed all the clocks, then turned with a jerk. With a twitch of his nose, and a quick little wink, All things electronic soon went on the blink. He zoomed from my system, to the next folks on line, He caused such a disruption, could this be a sign ? Then I heard him exclaim, with a loud, hearty cry, Happy Y2K to all, Kiss your PC's goodbye !!! |

Comments: I'm so tired! My "buttocks" hurt for slipping on a rock...my muscles are sore and so is my back for carrying the PRC...oh well...for all the fun I had during this weekend, it is a good deal. It was the best Rawdon of all. And the best flight I ever had too. Vampire flight was just great and my staff made it so much easier and happy for all these cadets following through the missions. I had a great time leading my missions although I have to admit that the night mission was the best (too bad no picture was taken of my reaction at the end like LT. Stirzacker noticed) because of its creativity. It demanded the use of thinking instead of physical capability. It was a new type of job that surprised every NCO. The cadets got to work as a team and to stay close on to each other. They learned a lot about the duties of a follower (such as supporting their leader) and were brought to appreciate a situation which was not made of violence. This is also why I like the camp: the missions all consisted of team work and ex itement created not by violence, but by the true application of basic knowledge learned throughout the cadet programme. We finally adapted the camp to the real purpose of it: leadership and survival...So this is a message to all those who think it sucked: before you start comparing, look carefully to the goals of this camp, and realize what it brought to you and your cadet . People may think we didn't leave the cadets free enough (to do war games and avoid too much supervision..) but this was one purpose of the PT and the obstacle course, I think. In fact, it was so slippery this year that it was a good thing that there was no war games. No snow : (...Oh! LITTLE touch of jealousy, I think there should of had two different categories for the prizes for the obstacle course. Since the trail was shorte and easier after lunch, we should of had best male and female before the incident, and same thing after lunch... after all it is not our fault that these mysterious intruders took the swing...so that's it... I mean the best female would of been Cdt. Some s in my flight...héhé..and best male would of been...next subject please!!! OK..OK the only thing I may regret in this camp has nothing to do with the concept, but material essential for souvenir, and better knowledge. That thing is a video camera. At least one!! We could learn much more from our errors by viewing the video and w would make everybody happy by presenting the funny adventures of the camp. Pictures are good but they freeze the action.... So next time we could show during recruiting periods an example of a mission, or show Sgt. Corbie how exactly we ended "(upsetting him)" after putting his mission upside down! I liked the idea of an observer for each mission. Before starting, I was wondering the use of it, but I wa so happy to act as one three times, because I had fun in a fair way to complicate the leaders missions. Not to be modest, I'd like to say that maybe this is the "hot spicy juice" that was missing in others missions that could have made them a better situation to control. Ask Sgts. Chu and Corbie if they thought their missions were boring because of work missing for their cadets. I think not. All of their missions didn't end up with the same emotions but what is important is that they knew they (and their flight) came out f their missions with the feeling that they learned a lot and did not lose their time. What I mean by all of this is that you can't just follow exactly what the smecs says, you have to adapt to the evolution of each of them. The goal of the mission is the same but the observer and evaluator can play and add up some more variables to the mis ion, depending on how does the mission leader works. So remember please that for Grenville and the years after, it would be an excellent idea to bring with us a video camera. *To all VAMPIRE Flight, make sure you are there for the CO's parade tomorrow, because some prizes will be handed out for the best of you, even if you were all great. I'll go do the callings for the flight now so I guess I'll see ya all tomorrow with a bi :) on your face!! Ciao ciao!!!! Fred....SOAR 4EVER! |

Comments: I was tired of putting the same e-mail all the time so here comes originality... So, GK level 1 test on tuesday, I hope I'll see more people pass by there cause it'll help! For cdt Kling, yes I have your research, and cougar is a good name (look my e-m il, hé é) but I'll have to take the best research, and your competition will have to end on thursday only...so wait to know! For now, it's the best cause its not just printing pages from a site but working on the presentation, which shows me you probably rea the information on the plane and learned more while doing the research. For cdts Naidoo and Julien, you see now what I mean, but that's ok, at least you showed me that you tried and feel proud of our flight. So Thursday is the last day, and we'll decorate our amazing and flashy flag with the winning name! Also, people in flight 2 for Rawdon..you don't know yet..but I'm your commander, so stick around on thursday too, and we'll decorate the flag for Rawdon. I want it amazing too. Think about a name for your flight(no research this time), and NCOs, attitude hecks. If you got some glue, markers, whatever, bring them and help us with the flags!! You'll have lots of fun during camp. Promise, well if you're in my flight....joking! By the way Sgt Chu is gonna be our dep so it'll rock right, ya! I know. Well ok I'll leave at least the Cpls as a surprise...hahaha. OK I better get some sleep during this week cause I'll take anyone for a challenge this weekend. Got to be top shape...I won't be but better be in a good shape..long time I didn't do sports..héhé school! Ah! bad weather by the way, so adjust the list of clothes you have to bring with t e weather it'll be doing on friday. This is usually a "winter" camp with snow and cold, but it'll look a bit more like the "sugaring off"! Mud, rain, oh no, hate it. Remember to bring sme good boots (with no holes preferably!!). You know, think about t. Any questions on camp, just ask a Cpl. and you'll know. And by the way, level 1's, if there is something you didn't get during the course on uniforms (girls go see female cpls, they'll help you much better than I can..for uniform), ask again an LA or a Cpl. because this is the basic "stuff". Don't be afraid afraid of asking them. I would make it a duty to go and see one at least for the boots to make sure you know the process. We'll try to have sessions to help you out with them but you etter be there for these activities we organize for your benefit. OK, enough talking, just want to say I'm glad its all cadets from my flight that write on the guestbook. You're proving that we are the best flight..héhé (well we are on the right track-proud of ya!) don't stop! I'll ee ya all on thursday with the flags!! !Hasta pronto amigos! FRED |

Comments: OK...I'm surprised somebody beat my imaginary record for the longest text in the guest book. And to this somebody..."ARE YOU OR WERE YOU IN 803 BEFORE???" Don't be shy...and "DO YOU KNOW ME?" cause I think I know who this is...ya! N-e-ways, can't we adopt the same principle as the list-bot? Fun fun fun!! |

Comments: For the one who wrote 20 reasons, there is about 100 others. YOU KNOW YOU'VE BEEN IN CADETS TOO LONG WHEN... 1. You sing Attitude Checks in the Shower. 2. You and your cadet friends pound a cadence in the halls at school so loud that people can't hear the PA system. 3. You vow that by the time you graduate you will have your entire grad class recruited to your squadron. 4. You start calling your training officer Mom/Dad. 5. You wear your uniform to bed. 6. You get mad at your male friends when their hair touches their ears or collar, even those not in cadets. 7. You have mono and only show up to school because your parent's rule is 'No school - no cadets'. 8. You will not take any instructions unless they are phrased as a drill command. 9. You go into drill withdrawal over summer vacation. 10. You go into drill withdrawal between weekly parades. 11. You go into drill withdrawal during break. 12. You go into drill withdrawal between drill movements! 13. You are unable to go into drill withdrawal because all of your personal motion is completed sharply with standard pauses in between. 14. Your next promotion is more important to you than graduating High School. 15. You salute your teachers at school. 16. item suppressed 17. You run laps in gym class at a perfect double time. 18. You always walk in perfect 120 cadence. 19. You change step to match the bass of a passing car. 20. Your Doc Martens are straight laced. 21. You constantly ask your science teacher what the PO/EO of the class is. 22. You sing drill commands in the shower. 23. You won't talk to anyone from the *other* elements, because you have such pride in your squadron and element. 24. You broke up with the guy/girl of your dreams because they were either of another element of they were not a cadet at all. 25. Ponytails with wispies disgust you. 26. You have creases in your jeans. 27. You won't leave the house unless your hair is perfectly gelled back to military standards. 28. You stand at attention when being yelled at by your parents. 29. You end every sentence with Sir or Ma'am, regardless of who you're talking to. 30. You freak when someone scratches your perfectly shined Doc Martens. 31. You check your arms when going through doorways. 32. You spend more time at your cadet hall than your officers do. 33. You hate all music that isn't at a perfect 120 tempo because it messes with your 120-tempo mind. 34. You will only buy clothes appropriate to wear on a CF Base. 35. The thought of a shirt that shows shoulders, cleavage or stomach kinda disgusts you. 36. You spend more time on cadet homework than you do school homework. 37. You don't understand why you can't get new clothes by just going up to supply and signing them off. 38. You only show up to history class to make comments about the beginnings of the CF and the Cadet Movement. 39. item suppressed 40. You think of EVERYTHING in a cadet manner. Even how you act around your friends. (Must…be…professional…!) 41. You challenge your school teachers to write better lesson plans than you. 42. You cannot swear. In uniform at least. 43. You only buy TicTacs, because you can't chew gum in uniform. 44. You are quite defensive when someone says you have no life. "I have a life! Cadets is my life!" 45. Your training officer sees your report card before your parents do. 46. You can't imagine dating someone who isn't in cadets - how would they keep up with you? 47. Your dog, and your little brother both maintain regulation haircuts. 48. You can quote the 201, the CATOs or the joining instructions of any ACSTC at any given moment. 49. You actually do. 50. You write your homework and school projects down in SMESC format. 51. You negotiate rules with your parents about staying home alone and you win - because you've taken care of more 12-year-olds than they have. 52. You actually have to ask people not to call you by your rank at school. 53. They still do. 54. You actually request that people use your rank at school. 55. You call the class to 'room' when your teacher enters. 56. You come to attention walking into CAPP. 57. You inform your teachers that they aren't following EPICUS and that you still want them using AMOL at the beginning of every class. 58. item suppressed 59. You threaten to CHAP anyone who touches you in Judo. Unless it's a H.A.T. 60. You have a locker at school. You live out of it to recreate that 'camp feeling'. 61. You own more than 3 combination locks and actually remember the combos to all of them. 62. You can't imagine life without your clipboard. 63. You're planning on wearing your boots with your grad dress. 64. Your main goal in life is to get your boots as shiny as patent leather. 65. You read your Drill Manual more often than all of your school texts combined. 66. Most of your friends are from camp and live far away from you. 67. You've had a camp relationship. 68. It's lasted longer than camp. 69. item suppressed 70. You frame your course reports. 71. You cut classes to iron your uniform. 72. You'd rather miss a week of your hardest class than dare miss a parade night. 73. You refuse to be seen around your school marching band for two reasons - one, they do their roll-ons 'American Style', and two, they can't keep in step. 74. You do drill routines with people on your spare time. 75. You've actually practiced saluting in a mirror. 76. You care more about your selection boards than you do about your Provincials. 77. You've managed to get your private pilot's license and you still can't drive a car. 78. You only want a car to drive yourself to cadets anyway. 79. Your school counselors find you in the hall when the Reserves and RMC recruiters come to do Post-Secondary presentations. 80. You're voted 'most likely to join the military' and you beam all year. 81. You get into a fight with your significant other because they think you care about cadets more than them. And your response is "You're right, I do!" 82. Your computer is only a 386, but it's heaven compared to the one sitting in your NCO lounge. 83. You own more sets of combats than most Reg Forcers do. 84. You and your friends have a distinctive design for camo paint. 85. You will only wear nail polish on days you don't have cadets. 86. You don't bother doing your hair on parade nights, your wedge will only mess it up later. 87. You have make up that you save just for parade nights, because it looks natural. 88. You refuse to buy the latest style of watch, for fear it will be regarded as 'costume jewelry'. 89. You just about cry when you find out that your school lowers the flag every day without a proper Sunset ceremony. 90. You are the only person in your school who can go into a long-winded history of the use of a mace in marching bands. 91. You have all of your cadet's first names, last names and phone numbers memorized. Your squadron has 100+ people in it. 92. You can't remember your significant other's birthday, but you can easily recall the dates of all your previous promotions. 93. You know what the Way-Ahead Process is. 94. You're involved in it. 95. You classify your friends by element and rank. 96. You trip going up the stairs to your room, but you know your cadet hall like the back of your hand. 97. You have hospital corners in your sheets at home. 98. You chiclet your pillow and have a pair of shoes underneath your bed. 99. Your drawers are organized the same way they were all summer. You cradle your socks. And fold your underwear into 4-inch squares. (This applies to SLC grads only) (Unless you're a REAL keener.) 100. You still can't figure out if your Vice-Principal is equivalent to the DCO, the Trg O or the Supply Officer. 102. You miss your grade 12 grad because it's on the same day as annual. 103. You find a woman more attractive with her hair up than down. 104. Whenever your English class is getting too loud, you believe it is your responsibility to yell "Keep the noise down!" 105. Every thing you do happens to follow the pattern of 1..2..3..1. 106. You wake up at 5 am in the morning and form up in your driveway. 107. You correct anything that moves on its drill - including harmless birds. 108. You start to iron your civilian clothes. 109. item suppressed 110. You start calling your Mom and Dad your flight staff. 111. When you get yelled at you find it more funny than scary. 112. You become afraid to walk on the grass. 113. There's slacking off, and there's working hard, you try to find a happy medium. 114. You create an 11th commandment "it's alright if I don't get caught". 115. You adopt a new bible "PD-201-000/PT-000 Canadian Forces Manual of Drill and Ceremonial". 116. You eat a full meal in under five minutes and don't even taste it. 117. item suppressed 118. You learn to sleep at attention. 119. After camp you learn to sleep everywhere. 120. You assign a 2IC and first aid officer when you take the garbage out. 121. Having the 201 with you becomes more important than your wallet. 122. You have dreams about complex drill sequences. So, do you have enough |

I'll try to plug the web-site....hope it works..it will stay in their heads after a while. ,br> N-e-ways, I'm here to comment about saturday the 13th...13 is not my lucky as many NCOs have noticed...I mean that things don't always turn out the way you want them to be. I had so much fun at bowling (hey what a sport!) surprising myself with high scores.. It was sad it finished a bit late though cause it didn't leave me the time to put my "ufinorm" on for the danse. I went there in a hurry thinking of many things, but I have to admit that the danse was worth its price for once. It was also lots of fun even if now I end up very tired again..oh well..see ya tonight!! |

Comments: :-) Alright, I promise this is my last message ...for the day!...It is my 3rd one but it says over on top "Thanks, and stop by often.", so I stop by often...lol! Just make sure you don't change it to "Next time you go gliding, release...yourself...at 20 0 feet!!" I might do it. :o) And euh hum hum, I prefer stopping by often then never right...ok. Well the subject of my message is promotions. Yes,yes, these famous promotions, the only moment you could find enough H20 around you to water he whole South Africa... It is a heart-breaking moment for some and a big-time award for others. Speaking of tears, I have to say sorry to LAC WU for making her cry for the rest of the night yesterday... I just hope you took what I told you in the good wa and that you'll use these words to make next promotions your promotion night. N-e-ways, I have to say that I'm still shaking because I got my F/SGTs. Even if I got it, I'm can't wait to see the details of my results, cause I know every one can g t better even if they've achieved their goals. By the way I'd like to say a special bravo to the new MR. "A Mari Usque Ad Mare"...WO1 Csizmar. I have to say that during my cadet carrer, I have always been influenced by the example set by the two C C's I've had. WO1 Bisson was a great model and so is my current "CHIEF". The night was full of surprises although I won some bets on how many and who would get promoted. I didn't get all the answers right though and that's partially why I was sha ing all night, because I didn't know the results and a lot had good possibilities. So now lets move on and see what changes occur with the promotions. Lets see what the new NCOs are capable of and lets see the post-recruits grow up in a better "f mily": 803!! Keep working hard, and I hope I'll see all the NCOs at the 3-force ball!!! (: Fly high :) FRED |

Comments: Hello!! It starts to be sad being the only one writng on this guest book, but I enjoy doing the contest. I got some friends to look at the site but they don't take the time to write, I guess cause they're not part of our squadron. On the other hand, I kno some people from the squadron that read the messages but didn't leave one..??...And where are the 90 other cadets or so??? I think it is part of the flight commander's job to make sure his flight knows 1)The sqn. phone number and 2)The web site of the sq .. There's a lot of information on the site which even Cpls do not know. It is there to provide them a bigger knowledge of their squadron. If the flight, commanders don't talk about it, well how are the cadets suppose to know about all this servic offered for their easier learning. I have started already preparing a flight list with all the infos about the web site cause I'm sure not even half of them look the little writings (not to be mean, it's just a fact) on the calendar of each month. Some of us should stop complaining our cadets are this and that, and start helping them through their basic learning process. The tools are there for them to take profit of but if we keep our mouths almost shut, all the effort will be useless. or example, during my GK class esterday, CDT. Poirier asked me a very good question when I showed the squadron banner(flag): what is the squadron's name North Shore Sabre and why 803 and not and other #???? Lovely question, and I'm sure this question interested a lot of cadets in her l vel 1 class. Well the answer is on the web site which I am using right now....So there's a proof cadets need to be more invited to use the phone for the messages and to consult the net for a lot of infos like the newletters. Now I don't think the other F/ OMMs come here so I guess I will use the NCO meeting for a good purpose... Thank you...(and remember the flight staff are there to help also)...we are all on the same team :) |
