Every rescue dog has a story...here is Mocha's
Mocha is 3 years old. We are
her fourth and final home. Mocha's first family physically abused
her and left her in the crate for most of her life with them. Her
second family only had her for a short while. The breeder took her back not knowing if she could ever be placed into another home. She lived with the breeder and her canine family for 3 months before I adopted her. During our first meeting she gave me a warning snap I will never forget. I still cannot believe I brought her back to New Jersey to live with us.
I started training Mocha in agility rather than formal obedience. Agility is the most fantastic thing to happen to her. She is a new dog: her self-confidence has soared, she is allowing people to pet her, and she is much happier having an activity in her life.
Update: We started obedience training. Mocha is doing fantastic. We are continuing obedience training this winter and hope to one day get a Canine Good Citizen award.
May 12, 2001: Mocha passed the CGC test. I am so proud of my little girl. She always is surprising me with her progress.
