1971 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia

"Later that day, Joe saw Katherine approach a Karmann Ghia, open it, swing her little bottom into it, and drive away. He stared after her, transfixed, his admiration increased tenfold. A woman with a good body was a thing of beauty, but a woman with a good car, well...."

My first 1971 Karmann Ghia (circa 1990.  I have the hairstyle to prove it)

When I was 15 years old my father bought me my first car, a bright yellow 1971 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia convertible. He searched all over the country for one through Hemmings.  He finally found the right car in Ohio.  He loved it, I hated it!  I was living in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and it was far too hot and humid to drive a car everyday without air conditioning.  I sold the car and got a Nissan 240SX.  My dad always says this is the one car he never wish he sold.

My second 1971 Karmann Ghia

Nearly 11 years later and driving a luxury SUV with air-conditioning, I decided I must have another Karmann Ghia. I looked for a few months and gave up until one day I found my car on ebay. It was the identical car I had in high school, only in better condition. Click here for the ebay auction pictures. New photos are below. Isn't she amazing?
