Requirements for Observer Certificate

 

 

1.  Name of observer (as appears on the certificate)

 

2.  Object name

 

3.  Date of observation

 

4.  Time of observation (24 hr EST/EDT/GMT format -- SPECIFY!)

 

5.  Diagram and position of object (azimuth -- compass, altitude -- degrees)

 

6.  Observing Conditions (Seeing, Transparency, Ambient temperature)

 

7.  Observing Method (Specifiy parameters – Naked eye, Binoculars, Scope)

 

8.  Appearance of object as observed (Colour, Size, Brightness, etc.)

 

9.  Submit observations legibly on paper – Executive will confirm and sign/date your certificate no later than the next meeting.

 

10.  When all parameters have been completed and signatures obtained, a seal will be awarded and placed on the certificate.  This will indicate your achievement and success in our observer’s program. 

 

11.  Honoured mention at meeting and in newsletter upon completion of certificate.

 

12.  NOTE:  Certificate format to be selected at the beginning of the program                        before first observations submitted for approval.
