At 7163' Snow Mountain offers a commanding view of forest and desert ecosystems of EastCentral Oregon In 1999 the Snow Mountain RD cut out the non-load bearing frames of the original windows and replaced them with larger windows. It is remarkably easy to make this modification(and surprisingly cheap-it cost us around $2,000 at Pisgah when we did it in '98 and that included a new door) and results in no loss to the stuctural integrity of the building. I can't reccomend this surgery highly enough! Check out an example of an R-6 flat with its original windows at Dixie and see the difference for yourself.
