This beautiful replica L-4 was constructed in the summer
of 1998.
Although not the highest lookout on the Deschutes, Lava Butte
is probably the busiest. Located just outside of the city
of Bend, this lookout has seen more than its share of
homes go up in flames and is essential for fire detection
in an area wrought with arsonists.
