Coffin Mtn. sits just East of the Mt Jefferson Wilderness
of the Oregon Cascades.
***If you plan on visiting Coffin Mountain please be
aware of the following: The lookout structure itself is closed
to the public. There are no restroom facilities available
for public use(too many noodleheads have thrown non-biodegradables
in it) and the lookout has a very limited water supply so pack
your own water. Overnight camping is prohibited on this mountain. Location:Willamette N.F., Detroit R.D. Elevation:5771ft Staffing Status:paid position, USFS Staffer:A.
