California can thank the KFPA for staffing this lookout as much of its seen territory is "south of the border" Location:SW OREGON, Klamath Fire Protection Association Elevation:6349ft Staffing Status:paid position,KFPA Structure:1951:20' cab constructed by Holland Sheet Metal Historical Structures:1928:ground site with living quarters, moved to Hambelton Butte in 1951. Living quarters dismantled in 1969. Legal:T40S R7E Sec16 nene Rental:Not in rental program Directions:Chase is on private property owned by U.S. Timberlands and is open to the public. Access is of highway 66 west of Keno, Oregon- turn onto Hamaker Mountain Road. About mid way to the radar site the road to the lookout is signed.
