The camp at Fairmile was set up in autumn 1994 and consisted of a tree village, ground benders, a moat, fortifications and a network of tunnels.
Fairmile Camp
On the of February 1997, Swampy, the last remaining "Fairmile Mole" emerged from the tunnels; the Battle of Fairmile was over. As evictions go, Fairmile ws excellent: there was no violence at all, and the amount of press coverage and public interest was phenomenal. The Fairmile Moles have become national heroes.
