Day Night Thermal Sight System

Description

Day-Night Thermal Sight System (DNTSS) is a 2nd generation infrared sight (FLIR) designed for armoured vehicles. DNTSS, gives the gunner the capability to survey the battlefield and detect, recognize, acquire and engage treats in adverse conditions like dust, smoke, fire and camouflage. The passive imaging provides fully covert surveillance.

DNTSS provides these capabilities by giving the gunner the choise of viewing the battlefield with optics telescope (Day view sensor), day television sensor (Day TV Sensor) or a thermal imaging sensor (Thermal Sensor). All the sensors have two fields of view. The direct view telescope is viewed through a seperate eye piece. The day TV and thermal image are viewed through a video display unit (VDU). Both gunner and commender have VDUs and can independently select day or thermal view. DNTSS integrates into the Turkish Land Forces Armored Infantry Fighting Vehicles (AIFV). The Thermal Sight utilizes state of the art 4 x 240 = 960, 2.nd generation Focal Plane Array (FPA) Infra Red detector technology which enchances tactical ranges over 2X compared to similar products. Turkish Land Forces is the first organization to field such serial produced systems with this technology. Built in features enables the DNTS to be integrated into a full solution fire control system without any modification to the base equipment.

It is possible to entegrate the system to other land, sea and airborne platforms. The digital signal processing within DNTSS enables it to be compatible with the digital battle field concept of the future, its tactical and technical superiority is an assurance for employment in such platforms.
