Moose Cary started driving in the early 50's. The car number was 88. He somtimes drove his own cars and also drove for Willie Wust, Lydle Smith
Vern Angel, and Denny Hamm.He won many fetures and track championships.
Moose rarely finished outside of the top 5. He was the winner of the last brookfield race of the early era which ended in 1964.He retired from racing in the early 1970's His last car was a gold 1940 Ford, number 42 which was smashed to pieces one Friday night! The car was done and so was the Moose.He retired from the telephone company
and moved to Schyler Lake where he lives today. His wife Hanna, passed away in the year 2000.Moose Cary is still a household word, whenever anyone mentions the central New York dirt tracks.He has carried some of the same fans for fifty years even though he only raced for about 30 years.
