Orientation Leader University of Saskatchewan Star Worientation '97 Program Of Student Affairs and Services at the U of S Room 65 Lower Place Riel, University of Saskatchewan

Duties: to orient new students to the U of S, it's services and programs. (Summer of 1997)


Volunteer Experience/

Extra Training

Sexual Assault Intervention Training that enables first contact for sexual assault victims to access for support and assistance, as well as advocacy if necessary, so as to get the medical and legal assistance they may be required with support and trust (2000).


USSU LGB Centre General office assistance, peer counseling, referrals, providing information for students who drop by, sexual assault intervention training, communications skills training, particiapting in class discussions on gay and lesbian issues, and helping to establish an welcoming and professional environment.


Saint Thomas More Students' Union First Year Rep. 1996-97. V.P. Promotions 1997-98. Duties were to promote the functions and events of the STMSU. Sit on college committees and work at STMSU events, while representing the interests and needs of first year students. V.P. Promotions 1997-98, advertising and planning STMSU events and programs.


Suicide Intervention Certificate Training by the Friends For Life Program Network, a program funded by the Government of Saskatchewan to decrease the incidents of adolescent suicide. Certified to assess and intervene in peer-type situations of immediate suicidal thoughts and actions. Trained in 1996, use skills almost constantly.


Implementation/ Long Range Planning Committee : Implementation committee of the United Church Of Saskatchewan. Committee was formed to look into reforming church structure to maximize efficiency and minimize duplication of work in the church.(1996-2000)


Youth and Young Adult Committee United Church of Saskatchewan Youth And Young Adult Committee (YAYAC). Participated in various youth leadership and program development. Duties: were to aid in planning events and fostering communication for youth and young adult members of the Church.


Youth Forum Committee Chair United Church of Saskatchewan Youth Forum planning team Chair. Duties were to co-ordinate the planning and leadership teams. Selection of home group leaders and Oversight of arrangement of the agenda and facilities.


Small Group Leader Youth Forums '94,' 95, & '96. Duties are to facilitate discussion and sharing in a small group environment. Fostering a healthy environment that enables group members to feel comfortable sharing their feelings both within the small group and the larger Youth Forum community.


Chairperson of Youth and Young adults activities at Conference Annual Meeting Task group Duties were to arrange and facilitate activities for youth and young adult delegates to the Conference Annual Meeting of the United Church in Saskatchewan. (1993-95).


Caravans Resource Pool Volunteer Have received training in facilitation and communication in group situations in order to better nurture group discussion and training.

Duties are to aid Churches or church groups in setting up or running events and programs. This skill can aid people in developing their own programs or in developing programs for them. This also involves leading the programs or training people to lead them. (1993-current).
