I offer a high-quality professional service translating from French to English and from German to English. I am qualified through the Institute of Linguists (London), holding the Institute's Diploma in Translation for both language combinations. I am also accredited as a Professional Translator, again for both my language combinations, by the Australian body NAATI (National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters).
Please note that, as a professional, I do not accept work in language combinations for which I am not qualified. So, for example, if you need translation from English into French or German, you should consult a qualified translator who is a native speaker of the respective target language. I will not undertake such work myself, but I may well be able to recommend someone. In accordance with professional ethics, I do not accept commissions for recommending colleagues.
Most of my work is in the technical field, including IT (I used to work as a programmer), automotive, electrical engineering. I also undertake marketing work, such as commercial websites, PowerPoint presentations and press releases, most of these also with some technical content. I have done quite a few tender specifications and patent applications, that is, work combining technical and legal content, as well as more general texts ranging from language-school websites to descriptions of the skulls of the great apes (unfortunately, Mr Harold William Vadney III's application to be included in this collection had to be rejected because of the qualification "great").... I am fairly versatile, but will not accept any job I am not able to do well.
