Quina Quen, the gluttonous, merry Qu, spends his/her days as a frog-catcher in the marshes and part time chef for Alexandria. S/he is a gourmand whose goal in life is to sample all the wonderful foods of the world. Quale, the chief of his tribe, believes Quina must leave his/her marsh and travel around the land to try more foods. Zidane agrees to take him/her along.
Eternally cheerful, Quina always looks on the bright side of circumstances. S/he understands when the rest of Zidane's party, thinking s/he is eccentric and annoying, tends to leave him/her out. "Leftovers good," s/he says.
Quina eventually discovers that the greatest way to sample food is to imagine it. S/he becomes the greatest gourmand the world has known for quite some time.
