From South Cracroft river I was expecting easy but not yet! The mud was severe and deeper than anywhere else and it wasn't until we crossed the Picton Range that conditions changed. Someone had come up here with a chainsaw and cut inti the logs to make the passage easier and faster. At 2 pm we were very happy to see the registration booth. It took us until about 7 pm but we hadn't reached Arve Rd so we camped by the roadside on West Picton Rd. THe next day our hitchhiking was in vain and we walked a total of 43km along the roads giving us both a few blisters. By 2pm or so we reached Geeveston and pigged out on all the greasy crap we could cram in. We caught the bus to Hobart for $14 and Roan flew to Melbourne the next day. I vegged out in Hobart until 28th of December when I too flew out.
