7th and 8th September

Day 29 & 30 Beedelup to Pemberton and rest day in Pemberton

Today's walk began at 6:30 am as I was fairly keen to get to the next town. A bit of a negative of the day was having to walk along the rainbow trail - a road from Big Brook dam until the trout farm just outside of Pemberton itself. The Karri forest was as usual quite pretty and awesome to look up at but the road was a it of a drag. Highlights for the day included the arboretum - quite interesting compared with Balingup's golden tree park. Big Brook dam was also impressive and it is always good to sit in a park seat rather than on a rock or log.

Decided to stay at Pemberton backpackers where I was given a house to share with Kevin once more. So this would be the 7th night I shared accommodation with Kevin. We went to the Pemberton Pub for a roast beef dinner and to try some more lovely local wine.

The next day I walked with Kevin as far as the Gloucester tree which I climbed as he continued on his way. When I came back I went to the fine art wood museum, finished my grocery shopping to get me to Walpole and enjoyed the atmosphere of the house with fireplace, kitchen, TV, nice bed and bathroom all for $28 per night.
