Day 25 - Tom Road to Boarding House

This day was a great day for walking along the river. Donnelly river had some lovely rapids and cascades as it dropped about 80 m over the day. I deliberately left Tom Road at about 10 am so that I would arrive at Graphite Road at lunch time. Graphite Road features the Graphiti Cafe - a favourite location for hikers for big breakfasts and lunch. I had pizza for lunch with Dukkha and lovely coffee.

I found the grey fantails quite conspicuous today playing games by flying up to you and then tempting you to follow them along the path. Speaking to Kevin later, he had noticed the same phenomenon. The Karri forests as usual were spectacular to walk through along each bank of the river.

Some of the wildflowers began appearing of plants I had not as yet seen in flower. Evidence of a change in the seasons.

Unfortunately I snapped one of my walking sticks today. For some reason, walking sticks tend to have a short life span with me. At Boarding House camp site I set my tent up in the Karri Forest without the tent fly. The bridge across the Donnelly river near the campsite is an impressively huge Karri with a railing built over the top as pictured below.
