Day 34 - Northcliffe to Gardiner Campsite

The day's walk was very easy and pleasant with some nice mild Spring weather to contend with along the way. The scenery along the Gardiner river did remind me that I was getting closer to the coast as it had the "feel" of the coast. Some of the best wildflower displays were evident along the way.

The Gardiner campsite on the Gardiner River was another babbling brook campsite. I keep thinking someone is arriving because it sounds as if someone is talking amongst the creek/river cascades. The red book made mention of platypus sightings but in spite of my many creek side visits I was unrewarded with monotremes.

I have noticed that some tent sites appear to be located underneath big overhanging limbs of gum trees. I certainly would think twice - even some of the huts look like they could take a beating from big tree limbs.
