The Society was duly registered by the Government of Republic of Cyprus, as required by law as non-profitable organization for welfare and cat protection. It is the only society in Cyprusdealing with the official registration of pure breed cats and pets and the issuing of internationally recognized pedigree certificates. In 1996 CyFS became a patronized member by the Federation of International Felines (FiFe) until the end of 1998. At the beginning of this year the Cyprus Feline Society has changed from the International Organization and has become a patronized member of the World Cat Federation (WCF). The Society has organized International, National and Promotional shows and seminars, and provides useful information regarding cats to its members and cats lovers. It is against commercial breeding and experimental use of animals.
