What the Bleep Do We Know

Three Key Ideas Summarized and Explained:

    1. Our reality is formed from past events. We see and understand things to be real from what we have experienced in the past. We are chemically controlled by our emotions. If a person is traumatized by an event that occurred a couple years ago, then the person may be over-sensitive to a similar event that would occur today. An example from the movie is Amanda’s husband cheated on her. Because of this occurrence, Amanda no longer trusts men and expects every man to act the same way as he husband.

    2. Matter is the physical makeup of our universe. Atoms make up matter. The makeup of an atom is a tiny center consisting of a nucleus and an electron field. The electron field is mostly empty space. The nucleus is made up of protons and neutrons. This is where we start getting into quantum physics. Common theories say that the makeup of electrons, protons, and neutrons are again mostly empty space. The only physically real part of these subatomic particles exists in every subatomic particle in every atom in our universe. If this is true, then everything in our universe is fundamentally made up of the same thing, unifying us with everything else in the universe.

    3. We are chemically addicted to certain emotions that have shaped our view of reality. Because we love our addictions, we don’t want to change them and do not welcome new experiences. In order to be balanced, we need to love the abstract as much as our addictions. In order to do this, we need to pursue knowledge without letting our addictions interfere.
